I am currently an Undergraduate, enrolled in National University of Singapore. I have 2 years of teaching experiences as a relief teacher at my former schools, I have also tuition experiences through voluntary assignments.

Through my tutoring, there are positive grades improvements for example from an English score of 58 to 78, but though I work hard to make sure my students improve, I am more focused to interest them in the subject and most importantly, they are happy learning the subject. I also tend to impart certain life values and experiences to my students to spice up the class so it is not so boring.

I found teaching to be a fulfilling and enjoyable job while working at a learning centre. I wish to inspire interest in education and confidence in problem solving when a child faces difficulties. The students i teach range from an age group of 3 to 12 years old. I understand that every child has a unique ability in their own level of understanding despite the levels that they are grouped with in schools. There are children that are ahead of others, while there are also children that are slower than their peers and teachers in school facing a classroom of more than 20 students during each lesson will not have the time and ability to cater mainly to each child's needs. I hope to be an aide to both the student and the classroom teachers in helping the child ahead to be challenged with higher levels of work and giving the child with learning difficulties individualized help.

I am an ex- primary school teacher with 15 years experience in a primary school where I was Level Head Mathematics. I taught at St Anthony's Canossian Primary and St Hilda's Primary schools. One of the schools I taught in was a GEP school. Currently, I am a full-time tutor and am most proficient teaching Upper Primary Mathematics and Science. My last student, she was from RGPS, and I have taught her since she was in P3 and currently she is in RGS Year 1. She scored A*s in English, Mathematics and Science. Most of the students I have taught scored A/A*s for Mathematics and Science. For Science, I teach my students to remember key (Science) words which are very important when answering Section B of the paper. For Mathematics, I believe that modelling and identifying the pattern in the question is very important.

I was a former student from Hwa Chong Institution in both high school and JC. Having started teaching 2 years ago, I have given private tutoring to students from various backgrounds ranging from A Level students from Hwa Chong JC to Sec 4 IP Students in NJC and even Sec 3 N Level Students whose results improved significantly from fails to distinctions. Currently, I am tutoring a Sec 4 O-Level student along with a JC2 student from Hwa Chong. Aspiring to be an educator in future, I wish to seize this opportunity to build my experience and lay stepping stones for my future career. In JC, I would often meet up with a group of friends who are weak in certain subjects, mainly Physics, Math and Chemistry and conduct mini informal lessons with them to help them understand the topic better and be able to catch up during lessons which are often rather quick paced. Teaching them really piqued my interest and helped myself understand the topic even better, killing two birds with one stone. Thankfully, after my two years in Hwa Chong taking 4 H2 subjects, I managed to attain a distinction for almost all my subjects in A-levels other than a C for H2 Economics and eventually the Outstanding Student Award.
