This personal background has profoundly shaped my approach to teaching, particularly when working with slow learners Being a slow learner myself, I understand the challenges and frustrations that can come with the learning process. In secondary school, I often found it difficult to keep up with the pace of the curriculum, and I sometimes felt overwhelmed by the expectations placed upon me. I tailor my teaching methodology to student's learning style because I believe every student is unique. They all have their strengths and weaknesses and it's up to the tutors to correct their mistakes while making learning fun at the same time. As a NTU Mathematical Sciences undergraduate, I have experience in teaching both math and science, and my goal has always been to inspire the younger generations like how the generations before me did. I make sure my explanations are succinct and great communication is established. I love this fulfilling job and I have plans to remain in the academia. My secondary 3 student's Amaths and Physics grades improved from B4 to A1 and C5 to A2 respectively after a year. A secondary 1 international school student under my guide had his Mathematics grades improved from C5 to A2 in the span of 7 months. In the past, I've also taught Maths and Science for Primary 5 and 6 students. I had a 1-2 tuition with two primary 5 students and guided them through PSLE. Both of them improved tremendously within a year and a half. I took another Primary 6 student's tutor's place when it was nearing her preliminary examinations. Her mathematics grades improved from C to A in an extremely short period of time.

Hello! I am an undergraduate at NUS studying Data Science and Economics. I have been teaching E Maths / A Maths / Chemistry at the secondary level for the past 3 years. I am patient and affirmative, and strive to work together with my students to achieve their academic goals. I strongly believe that understanding and application are the most important learning methods. As such, my lessons are tailored towards content understanding, where I break down difficult to understand topics into simple bite sized concepts and conceptual application through reinforcing my students' understanding of content and concepts with questions from assessment books, TYS and past year papers. This allows my students to grasp concepts easily and gain exposure to approaching and understanding different types of questions, which is key to their improvement. My students are also welcome to message me outside of class should they have any questions or queries. Regarding my teaching experience, I have previously taught 1 Sec 4 NA Maths student (improved from C6 to B3 for N levels), 1 Sec 4 A Maths student (improved from A2 to A1 for O levels), 1 Sec 4 Pure Chemistry student (improved from F9 to B3 for O levels). In addition, I was previously involved in a project developing questions for the IB Maths syllabus. I am currently tutoring 1 Sec 2 Maths student (who has maintained A1 for the past year). The myriad of opportunities and experiences I have at teaching and developing curriculum for maths at the secondary level has provided me an in depth knowledge of the current syllabuses and equipped me with the experience and techniques to explain difficult to understand concepts and tackle challenging questions. For chemistry, my teaching experience has also enabled me to help my students tackle difficult to understand topics such as Acids, Bases & Salts, Electrolysis and Organic Chemistry, which have enabled them to improve significantly in their examinations.
