After completing my A-Levels, I went for Teaching Internship Programme (TIP) in a Primary School (P5 & P3) for 6 months, followed by working in a tuition centre for another 6 months. I then went overseas to do my degree and is currently studying Master's of Arts in NTU. When I was teaching in the primary school, there was a group of students who are very disinterested and weak in Chinese. However at the end of my internship, I am heartened to find out that they have gained a better understanding of the language and also became more interested in the language!

I am a student in singapore polytechnic pursuing a diploma in biomedical science. what makes me stand out of the applicants would be my teaching style. Rather than "teaching", I prioritise guiding students on their approach to questions instead. i am also willing to write notes for my students and if you are interested. Another advantage is the fact that I just graduated secondary school so I am confident that I can relate to the students more and cater to what they need to know. with that in mind, i am more than confident that i can motivate your child to study harder. additionally, i am also a good advisor on future education for secondary school if the students need career guidance or further education guidance. in terms of experience, I have helped my friend's brother in lower secondary geography and literature. I have also helped him with other subjects occasionally. his grades have shown steady improvement in the 2 subjects I help with actively. i am very negotiable with my rates as i know that i have little experience and i can understand the doubts you may have towards me since i am still just a student. i am most confident in teaching biology, chemistry, combined geography and elementary maths.

Hello I'm Eric I'm 23 years old this year. I have 3 years plus of experience in teaching primary level. My students improve and understand the English and Math concepts after teaching them in a relatable and fun way - different children learn differently. With my experience in special needs industry as an early intervention teacher, I have learnt that children learn best when they are relax and comfortable in the environment. Thus, I always give a light-mood environment when tutoring and do not force the child if he/she does not understand; instead, I will brainstorm of a different manner to teach him/her so he/she can grasp the concepts better. My students have shown great improvement - from failing Math to passing Math, from C to B for English and sometimes, even getting above 75 marks. To be honest, I am more concern if the child has grasp the foundation than the grades, because without a good foundation, it is difficult for them to go far and absorb more as more concepts are taught. Lastly, I work closely with parents - updating them the child's progress and what they can work with them, as I see parents as part of the team. We work together and help the child improve and reach for greater heights.

I conceptualised and wrote the arts curriculum for the company. I also trained trainers internally and externally. Currently I have 5 secondary students in neighbourhood schools for English and Literature. *Teaching English and Literature is a huge part of my life.* I have been teaching for 26 years and approach it a little differently. I apply theatre techniques to make the lesson enjoyable and help my students, if not love, then like the language. I also taught Speech & Drama to preschool and primary school children in Helen O Grady. I believe many students don't do well because they lack confidence. I take slow steps by building a steady foundation first before laying on more difficult tasks. I use word games, magazines, storybooks, music videos, movies etcetera, as facilitators. For example, word games for vocabulary-building and movies and synopsis to develop stronger content for compositions and summaries. Students learn faster and remember more when they're put in a fun yet challenging environment. I'm not a conventional tutor who will come into your life and go through the motions. I'm passionate, driven and a great listener, and will design my lessons to suit my students' strengths and weaknesses, with emphasis on their strengths. My approach is not a one-size fits all, so one trial lesson will not make a fair assessment. I'm looking forward to working with parents who respect the process and understand that it takes time for a teacher to build rapport with their children and vice versa.
