In my final year of NTU English. I'm a recipient of the NTU Talent Scholarship. - Six years of tutoring across a range of subjects (English, General Paper, Literature, History, Film, IB Language & Literature, and Mathematics) - Have tutored about 27 students - Methodologies: Personalised Education, Inquiry-based Learning, Constructivist - Distinctions across the board - Short-term tuition successes: 'A' Level H2 Literature from 'U' to 'C' within a month / Group of 'O' Level Combined Humanities students from E8/F9 to A1/A2. - Taught at prestigious tuition centres, such as JustEdu My Story: I have always been involved in extra-curricular activities in secondary school and JC. In JC2, I broke down and would skip school and lessons at least twice a week. During that year, I would rank among the lowest for subjects I (wrongly) assumed needed studying and would maintain my scores for subjects I've always been good at. I didn't start studying until two weeks before 'A' Levels. It was during this period that I realised much of what schools teach is unnecessary and confusing; The syllabus is actually designed to test in a very straightforward manner, so long as you can notice the patterns and understanding the syllabus's demands. That's what I'm good at. My Experience: While I have not taught tuition professionally, I've always believed in helping my friends and juniors in their work. I started tutoring my secondary school juniors in Social Studies and History only a few weeks before their 'O' Level examinations. I demonstrated to them how easy it is to 'hack' and navigate the system. All of them did well for these subjects. One of them even improved from an E8 to an A1.

I am Sherlyn, 31 this year, graduated with O-level of 4A's and 2B's and held a degree in Business Management in University of London. I graduated in 2018 working full time in a government ministry currently. I am extremely familiar with the MOE syllabus as Ive been teaching primary school students since 22, with up to 9 years of experience in total. I've always been taking on tuition assignments as I love engaging with children and youth's and I believe in their potential of learning and development. Ive my own set of teaching instruments that are well loved by a lot of my students. 2 of my students are graduating soon this year hence Im looking for another great opportunity.
