Experience
I’m currently pursuing my full time teaching degree in NTU (NIE)
I have three years experience (2018-2020) teaching Primary, Secondary and IB Mathematics. All my students have shown significant improvements under my tutelage, for example, after providing tuition and guiding an IB Year 6 student in Higher Level Mathematics, his grades improved from an IB grade 4 to an IB grade 7, the best possible grade. Under my tutelage, one of my Sec 3 students also improved from a B4 to an A1 in his O Levels.
During my lessons, I guide the student through the fundamental Mathematical concepts, and provide the student with a wide range of questions from a wide range of topics. My lessons focus on concept mastery, making sure that the student grasps a firm understanding of the concepts he is required to learn. Thereafter, I will provide him/her with constant practice, making sure that he/her does not lose touch with the content and concepts.
Experience:
- Tutoring IB HL Mathematics (Nanyang Learning) (2020)
- Tutoring O Level Secondary Mathematics (Nanyang Learning) (2019-2020)
- Tutoring Primary/PSLE Mathematics (EduFarm) (2019-2020)
- Tutoring at Children's Wishing Well (2018-2020)
- Coach at ACS (Independent) for Mathematical Olympiad Competitions (2019-2020)
I have been teaching Mathematics for 3 years now, and my students are mainly from Secondary School (O Levels/IP) and from IB. I’ve taught many students in IB Mathematics (HL/SL), and all of them have made significant improvements in their scores. I have also mentored students in their IAs (Math Exploration) as well as their EEs in Mathematics.
I also taught 2 NUS high students, one was in Sec 1, the other one was in Year 4.
I tutored 2 IB Y6 students from ACSI last year who sat for the Nov 2020 examination. One of them improved from a grade 5 to the grade 7. The other student failed his Mid Year Examinations, obtained a grade 4 for his prelims, and obtained a grade 7 for his actual IB exams under my mentorship.
My lessons are very focused on conceptual understanding and I always focus on the weak areas of my students, specifically tailoring my lessons to their preferences.
