I was teaching Chinese in East view primary school and I been giving private Chinese tuition for 11 years I have 3 years of experience teaching in school for Primary 1 to 6 levels, and 10 years of tutoring experience, coaching students from Primary, Secondary and JC levels. Being trained in National Institute of Education (NIE) for primary school Chinese language education, I am confident in teaching pupils from Primary 1 to 6. Having more than 10 years of teaching experience, I can identify the general difficulties pupils faced in learning Chinese to craft out suitable lesson plans and execute them. Through various teaching strategies, I can help pupils improve their communication skills, build confidence in learning Chinese and ultimately cultivate an interest for the language. After coaching a Pri 5 boy, his Chinese grade improved from D to B in his PSLE result. A Sec 4 boy had obtained B3 for Chinese 'O' level, after 4 years of coaching with me, from initial grade C6 in Sec 1 with no interest in the language. A Sec 4 girl was able to achieve A2 for 'O' level Higher Chinese, despite getting only B3 for 'O' level Chinese attempted in Sec 3. I was referred to her by her friend when my student was in Sec 4, after getting her 'O' level Chinese result.

I was an MLEP Scholar in JC. I have been listed in the Dean's List in 4 internal examinations. In 2018, I became the 2nd best student to score in A Levels, with an RP of 88.75 AAA/AAB. I put in effort to translate my love for the subject to my students, who I taught through the MOE Teaching Internship Programme in 2018. Teaching has always been my passion, which is why I applied for the MOE Teaching Award/Scholarship. However, I rejected the offer because I wanted to pursue my studies in NUS rather than NTU-NIE. I private tutored two A-Level students from YIJC and ACJC for their A Levels. They improved greatly. I am able to design worksheets for students to do, mark them and provide revision materials by the next session and reply to any queries regarding homework or tuition materials via Whatsapp/SMS/Telegram. I do not give up on my students if they seem to be lazy or unmotivated. Given my past experience with my two tutees who had their own flaws and unpleasant habits, along with my experience in the MOE Teaching Internship in 2018, I am confident that I am able to adapt to my potential tutee's profiles and backgrounds.

I was teaching in Hougang Pri & Woodgrove Primary schools, mainly for English and Maths to P1-6 levels. I am currently a private teacher and part-time tutor. For years I have helped pupils to improve on their grades by adopting creative and differentiated teaching strategies in mini group tuition. I have also teaching experience in helping pupils to pass AEIS test to get into the local school.
