I used to work as a Student Care Teacher back in 2013 for about 1 year before I went back to study. I was in charge of the Primary 6 class for general duties, as well as teaching Chinese for Primary 1 & 2 class. Prior to that, I had given home tuition for Primary 1 Eng and Math back in 2012; as well as tuition class for K2 Mathematics in 2011. Unfortunately, the tuition centre is no longer in operation. I am confident in teaching lower primary Chinese as I believe it is important to lay our fundamentals right before we further improve on it. That said, upper primary Chinese is not an issue for me as well. To me, it is important to understand the student's status and finding out which area requires improvement. From there, I would introduce different methods according to where the issue appears to be. There may or may not be an effective solution, but I believe we will be able to work around it. I am open to suggestions from both student and parent as well. Apart from these, I have done some art-jamming events from time to time. These events include guiding children and families individually as well as together. I may have been away from teaching for a few years, but I have on and off been helping out with my nephews homework that are currently in both Pri 4 and 6.

I have tutored my friends in school before. My teaching methods tend to be very similar to that of a qualified teacher as my mother and my some of my family members are teachers. I tend to take the approach of letting the student try and figure the question out themselves and giving them hints to try and help them along the way. If they still cannot solve the question then I will guide them through the solution and ask them to do a similar question afterwards to see if they understand. I will help them with mindmaps and notes to help them further understand the topic as well as make lessons as fun as possible for them to enjoy learning.
