I’m very patient with my students and I have lots of experience with teaching maths. As a N level student myself, I got distinction in N levels and also in O levels. Hence I know how’s the curriculum like and I also have my own tips and methods on how to do well for N and O level students. Till today I have my own set of techniques and methods which I teach my students which they feel are very useful to them. I do my best to make teaching maths very fun but I also don’t forget to make sure that they get their grades that they want. I scored A for H2 Economics. I also taught my uni course mates on economics modules when I was in NUS. I used to be a trader for US bank J.P. morgan so I can help in business modules. I used to work in a student day care at Farrer Park Primary, it inspired me to want to give private tuition because I could see that it really makes a difference to the child's development when personal attention is given. I had to handle kids with ADHD, autism, and broken families and I feel that they really deserve so much more. I am genuinely concerned about kids out there who do not receive the proper learning assistance that they need because I have seen what it could do to them as they grow up.   From my 2 years of private tutoring experience from Primary - JC level, I have picked up skills and learning tips & tricks which helped me to form a concrete study and exam guide for students which has helped them improve grades from fails to Bs and Cs to As. This is also a similar plan that has helped me to excel in my studies where I constantly made to the Principal's Honour Roll for every major exams previously. I have a very strong passion for Science as a general field. Economics and Mathematics are subsets of the general field of Science which I am extremely enthusiastic in discovering out more for myself as well. I would love to tutor a student and help him/her to discover the joy in learning, appreciate the Scientific Inquiry & Knowledge, and at the same time, excel in their studies. I also love English as a language and believe in clear speaking and writing, communication and critical thinking. I dedicate myself to helping others learn because I gain satisfaction from helping to clarify doubts and solving problems too. I have developed a lot of patience working with so many kids at one go that I feel I have developed a very adaptive teaching style. I would definitely try a variation of teaching styles first to determine the best learning method for the student. That book will be a helpful guide for their creative writing for their essays. Usually I find students who struggle with the language to be average or poor writers. So this is one way I get them to improve. This can also help their comprehension! I’ll also brush up on their basics, such as tenses and what not. Some still struggle with their grammar. So that is where most marks are taken away as well, especially in their essays and the editing section (this is an easy section to score!) I have been extremely zealous about teaching and sharing the love of knowledge since a young age. I have taught students of different ages for 5 years now. I am motivated in putting in the work to comprehensively plan and cater the right teaching curriculum specifically for each student. Teaching English is my forte, and helping and encouraging my students to love the language is my responsibility. My students upon embarking their journey with me, have all undoubtedly improved in their grades. Some even improving drastically, from failing in their various subjects to eventually passing. Some being from the normal technical stream to eventually being promoted to the normal academic stream. Some just need the extra push, from constantly getting Bs to finally As.
