I am currently in my 3rd year of my undergraduate studies (double degree in Business & Computer Science). I self studied a lot of mathematics and am currently working on commercial and research projects in applied mathematics (scientific computing) and machine learning. I have helped many of my peers during my education and have been told many times that I should teach. I am able to explain mathematical concepts in an intuitive and insightful way, which helps students understand the meaning and purpose of various mathematical concepts, rather than just blindly following the same steps to calculate a value. I have tutored Calculus III and statistics in university (although I never took these courses as part of university, I was familiar enough with them from self study to teach it). Besides these, I am also confident in teaching linear algebra. As these topics are built on math topics in O Level and JC, I am confident in teaching them as well. Besides math, I have also given an introductory lecture in finance on equity/stock valuation (discounted cash flow) with good feedback.

Im an undergraduate math tutor with 5 years of teaching experience. Currently I am tutoring 3 other students, from Sengkang, Hai Sing Catholic, & St Patrick secondary school. Have taught past students from Chung Cheng High School (Main) (cchms), Raffles institution, Anglican High school(AHS), students showed improved from D7 to A2, B3 to A1, followed through another student from N level to O Level, from C6 to A1 I have taught IP students before, 1 secondary 4 from RI (B3 - A1), 2 secondary 3 students from VS (C6 - A2) and 1 student from Cedar (C5-A2) I am familiar with the recent change in the amath syllabus this year(2023) and as i have 2 other secondary 4 students as well, I am familiar with the pace other secondary schools teach at. Usually for lessons I spend the first 1h explaining concepts to the student, and the next 1h giving practices with the student to test his or her understanding. The student can always contact me via whatsapp if he or she has problems. I am confident I can help the student build a strong foundation to do well for examinations and to go on to achieve good results for o levels.

I am highly relevant and knowledgeable in the mathematics field as it is what I am pursuing at university level. I also know the content that the students are studying and the possible difficulties as I am also once in their shoes, studying for exams. I have current students for Sec 2 math and primary 5 math. My teaching methodology is focused on learning from their mistakes and not merely completely assignments. Being a student myself, it is extremely crucial for one to understand where they made the mistake, how to rectify it and what steps they could take so that same mistake would not be made. This is especially important in mathematics in primary and secondary level, where application of formulas and usage of diagrams such as modals serve as crucial visual aids to understand what the question is asking for. With practice of similar questions, students will truly grasp the concept even if the question comes up with a completely different figures.
