To do this, I emphasise less on blind practice and/or memorisation and more on understanding of concepts through visualisation, simple analogies, bite-sized piece information, understanding the bigger picture, and application of concepts in various situations. My teaching principle is that less is more ie one does not have to tax him/herself with too many practices but rather establishing his/her basics and building up from there. That way, he/she could tackle questions with varying difficulties actively instead of passively.

Going to NUS Data Science and Analytics I have 1 year of tutoring experience, and I have had 3 students before. I taught H2 Math, O level E math and Combined Physics/Chemistry. I help break down seemingly difficult concepts into simple chunks for your understanding. Mathematics will be so much more simple, and enjoyable. A typical tutoring session goes like this: 1. Going through of last session's homework (You can tell me any questions you have about the work, and I'll help you clear your misconceptions) 2. Afterwards, I'll go through the notes for a new topic/continue with the previous lesson's topic. I'll let you know what the common pitfalls of students are, the important concepts, everything you need to master this topic! Lastly, I'll assign homework that covers everything we have learnt in the session, as well as do a quick wrap up.

I have not taught privately before but I have tutored children from pre-school to upper secondary as part of my volunteering programs. One Primary 4 child I took for 1.5 years during an after school program improved from a failing grade to a B in both English and Math. There have been other improvements from my tutees before but my strength lies in my patience and thoroughness in making sure the basics of each subject are mastered before moving on to difficult topical questions. I took Triple Sciences, IP Advanced Mathematics and have been consistently strong in my English throughout.
