I tutor children during my free times and am most willing to help children in their languages and Mathematics. My past experiences in education include (most recent and frequent one) tutoring a pair of siblings, 4 and 6 when I first taught them, on an almost daily basis, helping them with homework, reading, communication, English, Math and Chinese. I am patient with children and have much experiences getting along with them as well. I help out as an assistant in a dance studio frequently too, and mainly during classes with children aged from 4 to 12.

I am an experience teacher currently teaching in Katong School which is a special needs school in Singapore. I teach functional Maths and English to children with learning disabilities, including children with autism. In my 20 years working with children with special needs, I have gained deep knowledge in Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy and hence are able to assess their challenges and subsequently accord appropriate and relevant basic intervention. I am passionate and committed in my work. In addition to full time teaching, I do private tutoring, below are summary of my tutuee: 1. K2 mainstream (suspect delay). Domain: Fine Motors skills. Child has issue with writing and with my deep knowledge in occupational therapy, I am able to devise a writing program for the child. The child is now able to independently and writes with correct letter placement and letter formation. 2. P2 mainstream (child with autism). Domain: Mathematics and English. Teach child basic maths concept and basic reading, writing and comprehension skills. In my teaching I incorporate TEACCH program (structure, work system etc ) and Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) for ensure that the child's (child with moderate autism) learning is optimised. 3. I have been giving tuition since 2012 (started as a part-time tutor) and have experience tutoring Primary school Math, Secondary school A and E Math, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science (Chemistry and Physics). I have also been involved in the publishing of local Secondary Mathematics Textbooks. For 2023, the subjects that I taught are Secondary pure physics, sec 1 exp e-math, sec 3 na e-math. For physics, i have 4 students, 3 taking O lvl and 1 from IP (dunman high school). On average the students, have improved 2 grades: the max from D7 to A2. The min being B4 to B4. Their grades are all As and Bs.

I have been teaching consistently since 2020, and have taught English classes on my own at Fairfield Methodist School (Sec) and at The Learning Lab. I have experience teaching students with ADHD, and believe in catering my teaching methods to each child's strengths and weaknesses. I believe in strengthening foundational English skills when teaching younger students from Upper Primary to Secondary 4.
