I started tutoring English over 5 years ago and it still excites and gratifies me to see my student’s progress, watching them enjoying their academic journey and reaping the results of their efforts in the end. Through the years, my tutoring has evolved in many ways and I realised that it is a learning curve for me as well as for my students. I have had a number of students, mostly in Primary school. As for my Upper Primary students, I was able to give them the boost from a ‘D’ towards the end of Primary 5 to an ‘A’ for PSLE. Being a teacher, helped me to adjust my lessons based on the individual needs of the child. Studying about younger children gave me an insight towards language bridging between Preschool and Primary school and how to ease children into Primary School English.

Full time tutor with 6 years of experience I have 6 years of proper experience from 2015 to 2020. Previously, I have taught primary 3 to secondary 4. I taught mainly on Maths and Science. All of them gave me very good reviews as I have improved their grades tremendously. P3 Filipino Student - Chinese, Maths and Science - from 50 marks to 70 marks within a year. Stopped for the second year due to financial constraints. Sec 2 to 4 Chinese Greenview - Maths, Additional Maths - Failed to B3 for Olevels. Sec 2 to 4 Chinese PLMGSS - Maths, Additional Maths - F9,B3 to A1 for Olevels. She is smart but a little lazy. So between lessons, I will push her for better results gradually. Sec 3 - 4 Compassvale - Maths, Additional Maths F9 to B3. She disliked maths but I managed to convince her to put in efforts and start liking maths. Private Olevel Chinese Student - Maths, Additional Maths. F9 to A1. My best student. He learnt all the concepts for Additional Maths within a short span of 6 months. I was very proud of him when he told me got A for both, especially when he said he dislikes maths. P6 Chinese PLMGPS - Maths - A. She is my tutee's sister, hence the parents trust me in guiding her. Personally, I am a tutor who likes to ask students on how they learn and what goals do they have in mind, which is why most of them did well because they want to achieve their aspiration. Different students have different learning styles. And I will accommodate to their way of thinking, making it simple to understand. Most importantly, I am very responsive on WhatsApp whenever they ask me for questions.

I have been a private tutor since 2015, focusing on teaching mainly Upper Primary. In 2019, I was employed as a Full Time Student Care teacher, teaching classes of students from P1 to P6 Math, Science and English. In recent years, I have been teaching mainly P5 and P6 in preparation for their Final year examinations including PSLE. - I strive to build students understanding on beyond answering questions, but to know the concepts and methods by heart and understanding. So that they are able to practice their brainstorming and problem-solving.
