I am entering the NUS college of humanities and sciences to study life sciences. I have been teaching upper secondary biology (pure and combine with chemistry) and lower secondary science for a year. I have a total of 3 students, and am currently still teaching 1. 2 students of mine have recently completed their 'O' Levels and have shown tremendous grade improvement over the year from scoring an average of B4 at the start of the year to scoring an A1 at their pure biology and combine biology/chemistry prelim papers. I have experience in teaching lower secondary science as well as upper secondary pure and combined biology for over a year with students of various background and academic strength, in which all of my students be it past or present have shown strong improvement in their grades in school and national examinations. I have a strong passion for sciences especially biology and chemistry as well as an in-depth understanding of these 2 sciences. Being a student myself that have once been through the same education system and exposed to the same syllabus, I have strong knowledge and understanding of the syllabus as well as what is required for your child to ace their examinations. My academic success in both subjects during my 'O' Levels as well as 'A' Levels, shows the strong understanding I possess of the syllabus and my abilities in being able to help your child in their academic journey. As a tutor and a past student, when it comes to both biology and chemistry, I strongly believe in the power of understanding and internalizing concepts or content being taught rather than pure memorization. Hence as your child's tutor, I will cater to your child's learning style and help guide them in understanding key concepts by summarising content for every topic, explaining clearly in sequential steps to help with the internalization of content being taught. I will provide my own set of resources such as summarized notes and analysis of the syllabus document to know exactly what will be tested during examinations. These resources will help your child to better understand scientific concepts with precision and accuracy, enhancing their ability to retain concepts and apply what they know well. Apart from understanding scientific concepts, the second aspect of doing well in these 2 sciences is applying concepts learned through practicing various question types. I will help guide my students to break down questions to better understand what concepts and knowledge of theirs those questions are targetting, and teach them various answering techniques on how to answer different types of questions. I will provide my own resources such as notes or worksheets, crafted based on their weaknesses in certain topics or question types and their style of learning to ensure effective and efficient learning for them.

I’m currently a year 4 Pharmacy undergraduate in the National University of Singapore. I previously graduated from Nanyang Junior College in 2018 and Tanjong Katong Secondary School in 2016. I graduated with an A in H2 math in JC and was a part of the galileo club. In secondary school, i consistently scored above 85% for both A and E math in upper secondary and my examination script was also used during examination review as an exemplary example due to the level of clarity my answers provided to the markers. I currently have 1 year of tutoring experience and have taught 2 secondary school students (one from Manjusri and the other from St Patrick’s). One student’s initial score was C5 and jumped to an A1 in O levels while the other student jumped from C6 to A2.
