I have experience tutoring both malay and non-malay primary level students who were struggling in Malay or are looking to score highest AL grade for PSLE. The students I handled who struggled in Malay have improved by several marks in the in-class assignments after tutoring them the basics of Malay. Depending on what they need help on, I leave the students to ask me questions so that they can take more ownership of their learning, which I encourage them to do. This would be more for upper primary students who are the age where they are going into their pre-teen phases. I prepare lesson plan for each student in a Google Word document every weekly and this is shared with parents - to keep everyone in the loop. This helps me to better prepare lesson plans that are most suitable to the student depending on what they're good/not so good at. Aside from this, I have done volunteer work for refugee children as well, where I have taught group of children Math, Science and English with some Malay for translation purposes. With that, I am fond of giving my ultimate best in my tutoring regardless of where they come from. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (with Hons) from NTU and specialized in Interactive Media in a prestigious art school in Singapore. With that, I am willing to tutor Art as well. Currently tutoring upper primary Malay, especially P6 students taking PSLE. My rates are between $35- $60/hr.
