I am an undergraduate at the National University of Singapore (NUS) studying Psychology. Currently, I am an English teacher at an enrichment centre where I teach children from 2 years old to Primary school how to read, sound out words and write (composition, etc.). I have experience teaching many different kinds of students with differing learning needs. I know what to look out for when teaching English and how to help my students bridge the gaps in their learning. I am constantly thinking of innovative ways to engage my students and help them improve. I also teach Primary English, Mathematics, and Science privately. The students under my tutelage have shown improvements in their understanding of the subjects and their performance in school (graded assessments). I understand the complexities of Primary school education. There is a certain set of skills that need to be cultivated within every child in order to ensure that they can succeed. Having experienced both taking the PSLE/O levels and teaching primary-level subjects, I am well-versed in the syllabus and know what it takes to produce good academic results. Additionally, I was also a volunteer tutor and have taught secondary-level (Express and NA) Mathematics. I fostered good relationships with my tutees which complemented their learning process. By monitoring their progress, I was able to ensure that my teaching method is effective. Overall, my experience (2 years) in tutoring accompanied by my passion for teaching, makes me a competent and caring tutor.

I have 3 years of tutoring experience at TOUCH Young Arrows. Tutored kindergarten students, lower primary students, students from p4-p6 and lower secondary students for Math and English. Student grade improvements: After teaching a p6 girl for 4 months, she went from failing Math and English to B for both subjects in PSLE. I have taught at p4 boy for a full year and his math grades improved from C to A for his year end exams.
