i taught primary school chinese at EduFirst Learning Centre for 1 year. Some of them attended Yishun Primary School, Ang Mo Kio Primary School and also Pei Chun Public School. Initially their grades were AL7 (20-44) and final results were AL6/5. For oral, my ex students were not able to score reading out loud component however after 12 lessons, they were able to articulate well and also pass the component with a score of 7-8 out of 10 I had a student who was having trouble with Chinese pronunciation and tone, which is a critical component of the language. We practiced proper pronunciation of Chinese words and practiced distinguishing between different tones. The student's ability to pronounce Chinese words improved significantly, and they became more confident in their communication skills. I am an enthusiastic and supportive tutor, continually seeking ways to motivate my students. I would build rapport with my students and use positive reinforcement to help them achieve their goals. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all teaching methodology that works for all students. Instead, I think it's important to have a flexible approach and adapt to the individual needs and learning styles of each student. As for my teaching style, I recognize that every student has their own unique learning style and needs. Therefore, I tailor my teaching methods and approach to each individual student. I listen to my students, ask questions, and work collaboratively with them to find the best approach for their learning needs.

The group of undergrads I was tutoring in NTU had averaged B/B- but got A- to A+ averaged after one semester. Taught Calculus I, II; Materials Chemistry; Physics I; Metals & Ceramics; Optics; My teaching approach is generally to break down the subject into the smallest digestible chunks and making sure their foundation is strong. It's better to discuss the concepts first before diving into the details. It's not necessary to force the student to remember every aspect, forgetting and refreshing the details is better for long term retention.

Over 15 years of teaching students under 16 years old, from academic subjects to more recently art and ceramics. I am best at teaching English to Mandarin speakers. First started giving tuition as a part-time job during National Service, mainly teaching primary school students English and Math, but have also tutored Science and Chinese.
