Straight A for Alevels (90rp) including GP. specialise in teaching JC GP. Currently (2018) teaching a J1 student from NJC and J2 HCJC and JJC student. Students grades have shown improvement, for example, J2 HCJC student improved from E at block test 1 to B in PRELIMS and NJC student improved from S to C. Well liked by students and able to build rapport. Familiar with what the markers are looking out for in comprehensions and essay. Will provide practices and sample essays. Graduated from Hwa Chong JC. Currently a Scholar at NTU accountancy and business double degree programme and was offered two other scholarships. Taught in a primary as an intern last year for a term and has underwent a week long teaching course by MOE.

I began giving private tuition during my undergraduate studies in NUS. Upon completion of my course, I have been relief teaching in JCs for the past 9 years, teaching the subject of GP. My responsibilities included the full teaching/marking load for the subject.

My teaching method, as the subject demands, is a highly interactive one. Engaging students and allowing them to openly voice their opinions and substantiate their claims is the first step to tapping into their critical reasoning skills. I prefer to keep a relaxed environment so that students do not feel apprehensive in airing their thoughts.

Have been tutoring for 13years. Graduated in 2007, and have been teaching since. Have only been tutoring GP (jc1 and jc2). Students have come from JJC, PJC, CJC, ACJC etc. mostly from JJC and PJC (west side JCs).
Initial scores varied from Us to D/E.
average obtained grades for A-Levels have been Bs, and some Cs. (Usually C-grades would be improvements from S and E grades).
Have had one student who repeated twice before and had U throughout. Eventually got an S (prelim was an E). She was from YJC.
So generally students see a 2-3 grade improvement depending on duration of time together. Some come to me 2 months from A-Levels etc..
