After experiences in both Polytechnic and Junior College education system with 7 years of tutoring experiences, I believe in bringing everyday real life examples and shortcuts into the learning process to enhance understanding and to reduce memory work using associations. Having improved from L1R5 26 to straight As for prelim, I know what the common errors and misconceptions are and I identified strategies that work for myself and my tutees.

I specialise in using metaphors and diagrams to explain and classify things for easier memorization; identifying and correcting students' misconceptions and assumptions, understanding what students are confused about, helping them to see where they have gone wrong and in what circumstances will their wrong answers be correct.

Along the way during teaching and problem solving, I will ask related additional questions to check one's understanding and things memorised.

As for homework, i don't believe in blindless repeated exercises, i believe repetition in a wide range of concepts and techniques is more effective in helping one to learn and remember.

What I really take pride in is the fact that I helped the students to continue what they love indirectly through helping them cope or excel in their studies.

1) I was invited to tutor the sibling of a tutee after a few tuition sessions and I have tutored the girls in that family for 3 years and continuing.

I am a currently working as behaviour therapist who works with children with special needs, mainly autism. I started private tutoring when I was pursuing my Bachelor Degree in 2012. Throughout the years, I have tried teaching in tuition centres but after 2 years, I decided that I prefer 1-to-1 tutoring so I am able to customise the lesson plan according to individual's needs. I do not believe in spoon-feeding the students. During my lesson, I facilitate to guide my students to think out of the box.
