Taught four students in total over the past two years. Two of them (taught privately) went from failing their class to achieving a B grade in the final IGCSE Mathematics exam. One of them was able to move from a C to an A in his final IGCSE Physics exam. The last one achieved an A* in his IGCSE Mathematics exam. Aside from these four students, I've been helping my brother and his friends for quite a while with their sessional examinations or final examinations.

5 years of tutoring, students from P3-Sec 4. I mainly teach math, science and geography. The schools my students were from were Anglican, Temasek, CHIJ KC, Victoria and St Patrick's. Mostly from the East area as i live close by. Initial scores in science generally ranged from C6-B4, final results after a year were an A2 across the board. For primary school I have taught single digit scorers to Getting at least a B by PSLE. I have been teaching sec 3-4 biology (B4 to A2). 1.5-year teaching PSLE Math and Science, English. Student improved from single-digit grade to passing marks, and another from C to A (Math and Science). I often write a formula book for them to familiarise with and encourage students to find their own method which works for them be it visual or auditory. I do not overload the students with extra tuition homework (unless the practice is needed) but rather help them with schoolwork they are already struggling with as I believe that it is more important to understand the concepts rather than doing more and getting none of it correct.

I gave tuition many years ago when I was a student in college and found that I enjoyed my interactions with my students. I stopped when I went overseas for my university education and subsequently worked full-time for over 20 years with The Straits Times as a sub-editor. Now that I am working flexi-time, I have decided to give tuition again. - I was a sub-Editor for the Straits Times. - Strong writing and oral English skills - With over two decades' experience editing and proof reading articles for The Straits Times, I am able to tap on this when helping students improve their grasp of the English language. My approach is to assess each students' strengths, diagnose his/her weaknesses and plan lessons bearing these in mind. I have been tutoring since JC. I was teaching in a tuition centre initially, usually groups of primary/secondary school students. I was specialised in teaching English. Then after in University, I started giving private tuition to both primary and secondary school students. My lessons are unconventional and interesting, sparking interest in students so they love English as a language, not just to get an A.
