I have 15 years of teaching experience, including 3 years teaching in student care under Pro-Teach. For home tuition, I mainly teach students around Rulang, Frontier, Jurong West, Lakeside and Corporation. I usually work with students who are struggling or need a push before their examinations. For students whose scores are around 20–30, with consistent lessons from July to October, I have helped them work towards passing their End-of-Year examinations. For students with borderline results, such as around AL6, I have also helped them improve to at least AL3. Of course, every student is different, and results depend on factors such as the student’s focus, consistency, willingness to practise and understanding of the concepts. My approach is to identify the student’s weaker areas, strengthen their foundation, and work progressively on exam techniques and question types so that they become more confident and independent in tackling their papers. I previously had a few students with ADHD and they did quite ok with me. However they are severe case, so eventually the parents had to send the kids to special school. They lasted around 6 months - 8 months with me until their exams finished. One of the boys has mild ADHD and dislike chinese so much that he can't even read pinyin. But after around 6-7 months of teaching him from basics, he can at least read pinyin now.
