Currently teaching Maths in Canberra Primary school I was previously in Jiemin Pri. Math and Music Tutoring since 2008 and teaching piano since 2010 and other subjects. I am patient and understand that every student requires a different teaching approach in order for them to learn. I have had experience with students who are slower in learning where in this case, diagrams and models will be more useful to them. My usual approach will be to assess the student's previous exam papers during the first lesson and identify the mistakes made and any doubts they have. With this, I will have a better understanding of the student's weakness and be able to come up with a detailed lesson plan and going through certain basics if it is necessary. Many of my students are siblings and have been with me for few years from primary to secondary school. Techniques and overall musicianship is very much emphasized rather then the normal notes. For these years, my students obtained merit and distinction for both theory and practical.

I have 16 years of experience teaching English as a teacher and many years as a tutor. My specialisation is in English Language. My students have track records of scoring 'As' in English and at PSLE. Two of my 5 P6 tutees scored AL 1 for English in the 2021 PSLE while the rest scored between AL2-AL3. 3 tutees scored AL 1 in 2022 and 2023 PSLE. I provide grammar notes for my tutees. Since I was actively involved in pedagogical research to identify effective teaching strategies, activities and assessments, I can adopt teaching strategies that cater to students of different learning styles. As such, I have received several awards for my contributions to pedagogical action research from MOE. I was also an active presenter at MOE Seminars and the Academy of Singapore Teachers. Now I am doing relief teaching on an Ad hoc basis.

I did relief teaching in Haig Boys’ Primary School and Tanjong Katong Primary in 2005. Taught in Success Edu Hub from 2005 to 2010. Have been doing tuition at my home till now.
