With immense grit and determination, I achieved 2 H2 Distinctions in Math and Econs after studying 6 years in RI under the integrated programme. That was not an easy feat for me, as I struggled in my earlier years in RI. Through effective study methods, however, I slowly discovered academic success in JC, which concluded my tertiary education journey on a high note. I personally have an avid interest in the two fields of Economics and Mathematics, and have spent countless of hours helping out both my friends and juniors by giving 1-1 tuition since I entered JC in 2019, while juggling with my studies. With the two years of tutoring experience under my belt, I have realised a simple approach to learning - grasping key concepts and putting them to good practice (a style that helped me to achieve my distinctions in the A levels). As I was not a stellar student in my earlier years, I understand the pain of having to catch up on concepts that one is weaker at, and as such, will always come from a position of guidance when encountering a student who needs more help. I am particularly passionate about education in general – one of my earlier ambitions was to go into academia. Have also tutored on-off since my uni years. I am a teacher with many years of teaching English, Maths and Science in govt and private schools and in giving home tuition to primary and secondary students. I last taught in Yuying secondary school and left in 1990s then taught in private schools. Their grades will improve after much practice using assessment books. For English, their vocabulary, grammar, cloze, comprehension and compositions will improve. I am patient and systematic in my teaching approach and will accommodate any teaching requests by the students and parents.

Just started volunteering as a tutor for P1-P3 students this year at Boon Lay Community Club. Students are mostly from Cooperation Primary School and Boon Lay Garden Primary School but I’m unsure about their scores. My teaching style will be to give homework to my tutee, mark the homework and go through his/her mistakes. I'll also provide notes for them.
