Hi, my name is Daphne and currently 43 years old. I have been teaching for about 20 years since year 2001. I was a contract teacher in 2001 and was posted to Damai Primary School. I was assigned to be the Form Teacher of Primary 3 at the point of time. After 1.5 years, I decided to take up full time tutoring and have been teaching students of Primary and Secondary Levels. For most of my students, there are always improvement in their grades. For example, from marks 55 to 80 or more. Feedbacks of the student's performance during the lesson will be shared with the parents after each lesson. Weakness in that particular subject will also be emphasized and revised regularly. I strongly believe in this phase " Practice makes perfect".

I was also a Homework Helper for Jimmy Maths, answering secondary schoop math homework queries through WhatsApp for over 100 students. I provided timely answers to the students' queries. I am currently a Psychology PhD student at Singapore Management University. I have prior experience in teaching English and Mathematics at the Primary 1 and 5 levels. Previously for my Primary 1 kid, he was facing language delays, attention difficulties, and could not count above 10. It is heartening that after learning about his interests and building a rapport, he was able to count much better and had even taken a liking to learn new spelling words on his own. I also provided advice to his parents on how to guide him with homework when there were no tuition classes. I am a strong believer that learning, especially with young kids, has to be engaging and not forced through memorisation only. Where possible, my lessons will be curated based on MOE's curriculum as well as the child's needs, and made to be interactive and productive.
