I started tutoring students since 2016 while studying in NTU. I tutored students from primary school to secondary school level in English, Maths, Science (Physics & Biology), and History. I have taken up many students, some for 2-3 years until they graduated. One of my student went on from a struggling C student in English & Science to getting an A and getting into Victoria. I believe that the recipe to succeed is for a student to see progress, and be inspired to succeed. My teaching method is to follow the curriculum of the school closely, create a schedule of what to achieve and go through during our time together, and then keep track of the progress of each student with a refresher of the material at the beginning and end of the course. I have a detailed plan of what to teach or tutor based on my interactions with my student. My father and brother are teachers and I am very familiar and in-touch with the school's curriculum which I think is crucial for any tutor. I have a Masters in Applied Linguistics and a Degree in Linguistics from NTU. I have also consistently done well during my early schooling years and have a youthful heart and mind to keep up with the students!

Ming is a Chinese classical pianist from Singapore. She completed her ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano Performance in 2017 and ABRSM Grade 8 in Music Theory after, and has been trained to teach in several music schools since. After she obtained her Diploma in Chemical Engineering at Singapore Polytechnic in 2018, Ming continued teaching piano to students from ages 2 to 80, at various music schools, as well as giving private piano lessons at her home studio. Her approach to teaching varies according to each student, as she tailors the lesson to each of her individual students’ needs and learning progress. She deeply values the interest of her students. In 2021, Ming continued her piano studies at LASALLE College of the Arts, attaining her BA(Hons) in Music specializing in Classical Piano Performance and under the tutelage of the Head of Classical Music, Mr. Frank DeMeglio. Beyond her teaching career, Ming is also active in performing. She has performed at places including the Singapore Airlines Theatre and the National Library, and is experienced in both solo and duet performances. During her years at LASALLE, Ming has been studying the Taubman Approach intensively with Mr. Frank Demeglio, who is an advocate of the Taubman Approach. The Taubman Approach is a technique developed by Dorothy Taubman that advocates healthy piano practice through coordinate movements of the hands, arms and body. This is a holistic approach, to solving one’s technical problems by allowing the body and mind to work in synergy. The Taubman Approach can help: - Prevent injury and muscle fatigue - Return the body to its physiological functioning state, to allow the pianist to work anew on their interpretation - Enable the pianist to fully express themselves, free from any conceivable body limitations During her years of intensive study, Ming has personally overcome various technique problems with the help of the Taubman Approach. She is specifically dedicated to helping any pianists experiencing any pain and strain at the piano from improper technique and practice habits.
