I have more than 5 years of experience in this field. I have worked in 4 preschools. I am a IB Diploma graduate (Class of 2022) from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), waiting to start university at the NUS Faculty of Law after recently completing my National Service. Although I have zero years of formal tutoring experience, I have spent many years helping my younger sister through her schooling journey. Despite having her own tutors, she would rope me in to offer my input on particularly challenging maths problems or tasking essay questions. That small personal investment of mine reaped joyful dividends when she was able to rally after a less-than-ideal prelims to score 4 points in her 'O' Levels last year. I firmly believe that the key to excelling in any subject - maths, sciences and humanities alike - is to own your solutions. The methods you employ to break down challenging maths problems or find answers in complicated passages should be settled upon by you, not forced onto you by your teacher or tutor. As a student, I found that taking ownership of my problem-solving deeply reinforced the concepts that I was being taught in school. Furthermore, it allowed me to approach each and every question with a unique focus, rooted in the confidence I had in my own foundations. As a tutor, my role would be to guide you towards your own problem-solving pedagogy, allowing you to recognise patterns in the problems that you face, and helping you connect the dots to arrive at your solution.

I am Gerald, and I am 22 years old. I graduated from Hwa Chong, took my A Level exams in 2020, scoring 90 RP with an “A” in H2 Economics and “Merit” in H3 Economics. I am a Year 3 undergraduate in NTU. My academic results in school were consistently stellar, and I was awarded Outstanding Student Award in both 2018 and 2020, and the Hwa Chong Diploma with Distinction in 2020. I am well prepared for lessons and will use a variety of methods of instruction to see which style of delivery suits my tutee best. I provide my own worksheets, notes and more to deliver content to my tutee. I am a dedicated tutor as well, and will provide my tutee the resources they want and more to better prepare my tutee for the A Level Examination. I focus a lot on essay skills and structuring of paragraphs. This will help my tutee be better able to apply content knowledge in their essay questions. I have 5 years of experience I graduated top of my class in 2019 in SOTA through the IBDP program and attended Dartmouth College, an Ivy League institution. During my time at Dartmouth, I triple majored in Biology, Psychology, and Theatre, and I graduated Dartmouth cum laude with honors in Biology and Psychology. I have 5 years of experience teaching Grade 9 to 12 Biology including AP and IB Biology. After tutoring a Grade 11 girl, her grades improved from an average of a B- to an A. I also have 2 years of experience tutoring Grade 10 to 12 IB HL and SL Chinese Language B, and all my students passed the final IB exam with a 7 in the subject. I have a year of work experience in the field of Student care as I was able to find a job in Kidz Treehouse @ Geylang Methodist School (Primary), and I am excited and willing to learn and work hard to gain more experience. During my time at the Student Care Centre, I was happy to have the chance to communicate with the other student care teachers and work with them through projects while planning out enrichment activities for the students to enjoy – be it during school days or during school holidays. After my time at Kidz Treehouse, I managed to get a full-time tutoring job for a Primary 4 Student who needed help with Science. After giving tuition to him, his grades improved from the 70s to the 80s, and the parents wanted me to help him with mathematics.
