I have been teaching tuition for 3 years. Taught JC Biology, GP, secondary school chemistry, biology and English. Student went from S (subpass) to B in 7 months for JC H2 Biology. Under my tutelage, my students have seen improvement in their results. I am patient in explaining difficult concepts to my students. I will ensure that they fully understand the concept before moving on to the next topic. This is because I believe that studying is not about rote memorisation. It is about learning the important skills and understanding the concepts so that you can excel. I believe this is the most crucial part of teaching. I have materials for students to do practices with. For JC Biology, especially, I believe it is crucial to have constant practice to learn how to phrase answers. I am extremely confident that I can help you (or your child) excel in biology. This is because I am highly well-versed in the content because I am currently a Biology undergraduate in NUS. I am also very familiar with how A level markers expect you to phrase your answers. I am also very experienced in teaching English, and know how to tailor my lessons to address the student's needs while keeping their interest. I was part of an award winning NUS student-led programme that designed and taught a curriculum to teach secondary 3 students essay writing. Under my guidance, my students' essays were published in a school essay publication.

I am currently teaching 1 secondary 1 student for math, another sec 4 student (a math) will commence in July.

I vary my teaching style according to the student's needs.
case 1: student is weak, does not pay attention in class.
-- i will teach the topic from scratch, and do exercises together.
case 2: student is hardworking, pays attention in class.
-- consultation format. i would require the student to revise a particular topic on her own, do practice questions from assessment book & textbook. clarify doubts during lesson.
For both cases, i will give them a list 'daily dosage of maths'.
