I am specialized in teaching both Chinese and Maths in Primary and Secondary level. I have been teaching since 1999 after graduating from NIE with a Postgraduate Degree in Education (Secondary).

I taught English and Music in Clementi Town Secondary School for about 4 years.

The students in the Normal Academic stream were able to achieve nearly 95% and above for pass rates in English.(Pupils only had 50% or less pass rates at the beginning of the year) I taught the Express/Normal Academic and Normal Technical stream during these 4 years.

After taking my Masters Degree in 2008, I started to teach bridging courses(English) to private scholars from Raffles Institution, Raffles Girls Secondary, Nan Hua Secondary amongst other schools. As my Masters Degree was on' How to enhance a student's learning efficacy using Multiple Intelligence', I learnt how to motivate students in learning intrinsically rather than just extrinsically.

I also home tutored students from various schools: Clementi town secondary, Raffles institution, raffles girls school, nan hua, yusof ishak, international college in penang, psb academy, ngee ann poly.

For the past 8 years, I have been teaching at tertiary level. I have taught Business Communication and English at PSB academy for the past 7 years and is currently teaching at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I have been consistently obtaining very high SET scores from students for the past 8 years. This includes the NIE students which I facilitated briefly for the Meranti Project in 2014.

My teaching method varies for the different levels of students. Having excellent rapport with all types of students is definitely pivotal in gaining their trust and this in turn enhances their learning efficacy for the English Language. On the weekends, I sometimes teach English private tuition to both foreign and local students.

I believe that a teacher should always upgrade his/her skills hence I took up ACTA from IAL. I am confident that with my vast experiences in pedagogy and andragogy, I am able to help a student to develop a passion and to excel in the English Language.

I have tutored my younger brother since he was in primary school, up until he sat for his O Levels. I'm proficient in English, Physics, Chemistry and Math. Studying for many years has allowed me to become well versed with the different studying techniques and styles. I feel like I can provide students with the pertinent knowledge and skill sets to succeed in their subjects by not simply working hard, but also working smart. I firmly believe in the benefits of perseverance and I will do all in my power to see my students succeed and achieve their goals. I would prefer to teach students studying primary and secondary English, Math and Science.
