My tutees are from all levels P1s to P6s, mainly Math & Science and Sec 1 & 2 Math. Some of my tutees are from PeiHwa, South View and Nanhua. Had taught O level A & E Math during University days. All my tutees are from MOE schools.

Tutoring is my passion. It gives me great comfort to see my students to improve in their studies and gain confidence in tackling with challenges head on. As I have been teaching for quite some time now, I have had a wide array of students with different academic inclinations. Some of them were highly motivated learners who understood all concepts immediately while others were initially distracted and had a hard time grasping concepts. However, from experience i have seen that a student's real potential cannot be judged from their current results. Once the weak students were given the proper help (lessons that were tailored to their understanding patterns) my weaker students eventually went on to get distinctions too. My goal is always to motivate the student to develop a deep understanding of what they are being taught, and learn the value in its application eventually in their lives. I have been teaching a 6 years old little girl for Chinese, teach her basic Chinese character through readings and some writings. Most of the time I teach her how to express herself using proper Chinese words, we usually end our lesson by conversation. I will show her a picture about the topic we discussed in lesson and she will need to briefly describe the pictures. I have also recommend her to watch some Chinese cartoons and shows, so that I can get her interest and start the topic for lessons.
I currently teaching a non-Chinese adult lady for conversational Chinese, she is satisfy with my tuition and is able to speak
simple Chinese sentence.

I am currently teaching lower primary students from primary 5 to 6 at a volunteer center, and I have been teaching them math and english subjects for around 6months. These students are from low income and difficult families and have very little interest in studying, hence it really takes time and patience to teach them. But overtime my students have shown some improvement in their understanding of the question, since we give them a mini quiz at the end of the month. My interest lies in math and I like to teach concepts of a math question to students and find different ways to solve a question, rather then simply giving them a model answer or fixed structure to follow.

Besides being a consecutive Dean's List recipient from 2017 to 2020, I was also awarded the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry Medal and Book Prizes (awarded to the top Chemistry students). I am currently a Chemistry PhD student at Harvard University (US). Tutoring Experience (in years): 8 years Brief description of your experience: I have taught at a tuition centre in Parkway Parade since March 2016, mainly focusing on A level H2 Chemistry. Past students, including those from home tuition, include MJC, RVHS, DHS, VJC, ACJC, TMJC and NYJC. Grades achieved by students range from A to B.
