I have been working as a private home tutor since 2018. I enjoy conversing with children and teenagers as well as parents. Throughout the years of me tutoring, I realised that I have a knack of communicating in a way that the children and teenagers could accept. I believe in not only being able to educate academically, but also to connect on a deeper level with the children in order to understand them better, and through this, I will be able to craft up a better and more suitable plan to teach them so as to encourage and motivate them to study. I believe that forcing a student to study is not effective, motivating them to enjoy learning is the way to go. My students enjoy learning with me, including those students who are very picky with choosing their tutors. All parents have given feedback that their children enjoy my lessons and they fully trust me in educating their children, both academically and holistically.

With immense grit and determination, I achieved 2 H2 Distinctions in Math and Econs after studying 6 years in RI under the integrated programme. That was not an easy feat for me, as I struggled in my earlier years in RI. Through effective study methods, however, I slowly discovered academic success in JC, which concluded my tertiary education journey on a high note. I personally have an avid interest in the two fields of Economics and Mathematics, and have spent countless of hours helping out both my friends and juniors by giving 1-1 tuition since I entered JC in 2019, while juggling with my studies. With the two years of tutoring experience under my belt, I have realised a simple approach to learning - grasping key concepts and putting them to good practice (a style that helped me to achieve my distinctions in the A levels). As I was not a stellar student in my earlier years, I understand the pain of having to catch up on concepts that one is weaker at, and as such, will always come from a position of guidance when encountering a student who needs more help. I will always do my best to facilitate a fun and fruitful learning environment.

Over the past few years, I have experience teaching Primary, Secondary and Junior College students. Currently, I am teaching H2 Math to a student from VJC. I had taught A level Maths, Upper Secondary Chemistry and Math, Lower Secondary Math and Science and PSLE Math and Science. My students came from different backgrounds and schools including Temasek Secondary, Xinmin Secondary, CHIJ OLN and many more. One of my O level students improved from a failing grade to a B3 in O level for Chemistry within a few months of lessons. As a student not too long ago, I fully understand the struggles and will be able to patiently guide them toward their goals. It is essential to provide the student with good support for them to excel but it is even more important to prepare the student mentally for national exams. This is because more often than not, despite studying hard, a student tends to underperform when facing extreme stress. Hence, I hope to be a tutor that can provide excellent academic support for the student, and help the student to feel more ready to tackle their exams. The student may message outside tutoring hours if he or she has any questions about the subject. Cover topics taught in school and explain proofs so that the student grasps the concepts better.My main aim is to ensure your child has a high level of understanding of the subject and will eventually be able to self study without the assistance of a tutor the following year. Will focus mainly on topics that the student is weak in and help them practice. Practice papers will all be provided and additional notes as and when the student requires.   Have helped 2 secondary 3 math students improve their grades from D7 to A1. I graduated VJC with 8 distinctions at A levels. Maths and sciences have always been intriguing to me and I hope to spark the interests in my students too. With a strong grasp of concepts in maths and sciences, I am able to quickly identify misconceptions and gaps in students' understanding so as to get them back on the right track.
