I have been teaching private tuitions since 2017 during my university years as a part-time tutor, and now I converted to being a full-time private tutor, accumulated over 2000 hours of tutoring,  specializing in teaching Mathematics (incl competition). Since I have scored A1 for e-math, a-math and pure physics for my O Levels, and A for H2 Math & Physics for A Levels, I am very familiar with the syllabus and have my own handy methods of understanding the concepts and to be exam-smart. Over the years I have helped 6 O Level students, with the best from D7 to A1 in math. I have also taught 7 students in IB Math SL, 4 primary Math Olympiad students, including SASMO & NMOS. I have experience in teaching online classes for 6 overseas students applying for AEIS exams too, all have been successfully enrolled into international schools in Singapore. My way of teaching focuses on guiding, understanding and visualization of concepts while being very open minded to encourage my students to have their own interpretation of the concepts, rather than to spoon feed the students and overwhelm them with lots of homework. My students treat me as a friend more than as a teacher, and most of them find math more fun and easy to understand. I always customize practice papers for each of my students and help them make their own personalized notes. Each student is different and I always help each one of them target their own weaknesses without making them more stressful. My students prefer to do my homework then school homework, because the homework I give to them better suits them with less repetition on things they already know. They also like me because I listen to them, give them more attention and care than a school teacher who must consider the entire class. Many of my students actually said I am much more open minded and interesting to learn from. I am also able to teach bilingually since I am fluent in English and Mandarin is my mother tongue. When teaching, I make sure the student is engaged by asking questions that pushes the student closer towards find the answer by themselves (rather than just narrating the method to them). When small progresses are made, I make sure to give them due credit and encouragement so they would feel motivated and gain confidence. I can help the student with their school work, while giving targetted worksheets to help them with their weakest topics, as well as periodically giving mini tests to check on their progress. When nearing exams, I will share some exam tips and techniques that helped me in the past as well. As for experience, I have previously volunteered at a primary school to teach P4–P6 students, covering all subjects. I am also currently tutoring a Sec 4 NA A-Math student, a Sec 1 NA Math student, and a P6 student. I graduated from RGS and RJC, and is currently awaiting university. I have scored A for H2 math in my recent prelims (A level results have not been released yet). I have a year of tutoring experience as I have previously volunteered at a primary school to tutor P4-6 students. I am also currently tutoring a Sec 1 NA, Sec 4 NA and P6 student Maths.
