I am currently in my 3rd year of my undergraduate studies (double degree in Business & Computer Science). I self studied a lot of mathematics and am currently working on commercial and research projects in applied mathematics (scientific computing) and machine learning. I have helped many of my peers during my education and have been told many times that I should teach. I am able to explain mathematical concepts in an intuitive and insightful way, which helps students understand the meaning and purpose of various mathematical concepts, rather than just blindly following the same steps to calculate a value. I have tutored Calculus III and statistics in university (although I never took these courses as part of university, I was familiar enough with them from self study to teach it). Besides these, I am also confident in teaching linear algebra. As these topics are built on math topics in O Level and JC, I am confident in teaching them as well. My teaching style focuses on building the basic concepts and prove to students that all questions can be solved using the fundamental concepts acquired during the lessons. Recent student was from Chung Cheng High School (Main), Express Steam. Her initial scores for both her E & A Math were F9, and final scores for her O Level improved to B3. My lessons would promote two-way communication. I believe that both parties asking and answering questions is the best way to learn effectively. I will also set small and realistic goals with students at the start and review them periodically. These goals will ensure that the students are on the right path towards their next phase of academic course.
