I am currently teaching English at a centre at Bedok North, it is my second year there. Most of my students are from the neighbourhood, and do not speak English at home, hence they are quite weak in English, with an exception of a few students, who would get a B grade in school.

Last year I took sec 4 and Sec 1, and lower primary classes. This year, I take only secondary students, from sec 1 to 4. Almost all my sec 2 students followed me from sec 1, some have showed improvement, 1 of the girls, after a few months in my class last year said she passed her English exams for the first time, hence, she would follow me to sec 2.

I prefer teaching secondary school students, as I can relate to them well. At the end of the day, when students improve, I feel that besides the tutor, it is also the student who has to have the willingness to put in the effort.

I have been a teacher/tutor for the past 16 years. In the past, I have taught at Raffles Girls' Sec School(Computer Studies)and after that at a tuition Centre. Currently I am a full time tutor with 2 students in Secondary 2 &3 teaching Mathematics and Science. In addition, I'm also having 7 more students in Primary School from P1, P3, P4 and P5 from St Andrew Junior, St Joseph Junior, Nan Hua and St Margaret Primary School and Kheng Cheng Primary guiding them in English, Mathematics and Science. One of my students from St. Margaret Primary scored only 48% for SA1 but managed to obtain 71% for her Final SA2 Maths paper. I have also taught 2 students sitting for Primary 2 and Primary 4 AEIS exam last month in February 2019 in both English and Mathematics. One of my students was successful in passing her Primary 2 AEIS exam taken in September 2018. She is now attending St. Margaret Primary. I'm also teaching Elementary, Middle Year English, Mathematics and Science to International school students. I am currently tutoring some students in Grade 3 to Year 6 from Stamford American International School, Dulwich College, Overseas Family School and GEMS Academy. I'll provide materials such as notes and worksheets to supplement their school.
