Having grown up in a Chinese speaking household with both parents being Chinese educated graduates I have a love for the Chinese language.
In today¢__Ô_æ¢s society where children tends to come from English speaking homes, the struggle to speak and write is understandable. I can understand the childs¢__Ô_æ¢ frustration in the reverse manner from when I was learning English.
However answering comprehension and writing composition can be taught more effectively with one to one tuition as in my lessons for composition the child have a chance to attempt the composition first as I guide them along. Weakness in either vocabulary or sentence structuring is than picked up and and can be improved upon.

I have not really taught before, however I was a relief form tutor in St. Michael's School in January 2010 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My first exposure to tutoring came while studying at polytechnic and it birth in me a passion for young people and journeying with them through challenges they face. This experience motivated me to pursue contract teaching at a primary school for a year prior to entering university, during which period, I was given the opportunity to be a form teacher and to teach subjects including English, Math and Science.

Upon graduation, while my professional life took a different direction, I continued in my passion for education and started a community tuition programme for low-income children in both primary and secondary school levels, since 2013.

As a tutor, my goal is to maximize individual student performance, inspire students¢__Ô_æ¢ interest in subjects and instill a sense of self-worth among my students. I enjoy the challenge of devising creative lesson plans that promote student interest in the pursuit of learning. I am very committed to providing a learning environment that is both exciting and rigorous, one that caters to different learning styles and empowers the student to pursue learning.
