I am a final year student at NUS pursuing double major in Data Science and Economics, maintaining a first class honours grade average. I graduated from RI in 2017 with a perfect score for A levels (PCME, 90 rank points). I have taught multiple tutees in Maths and Economics for both O levels and A levels (4 years of experience) and helped them achieve tremendous improvements (e.g. one tutee went from D in prelims to A in the actual exam for H2 econs).

I was enlisted by my aunt to assist both my younger cousins during their preparation for the O levels in 2020 and 2021. I helped them with the subjects of English and HSS as that is where my strengths lie, the older one achieved an A1 for both subjects while the younger achieved one A1 and one A2. Tutoring them really made me realise that I have a passion for teaching and helping students achieve results. Now finished with my A levels, I hope that you can give me the opportunity to teach more students. I assure you that I am ready to commit fully to any student and help them as best as I can. I emphasise the mastery of skills rather than content mastery, as writing skills diffrentiate between the A students and the B students. I would recommend short term skill mastery courses rather than long term tuition commitments, as skills do not take that long to learn and they will never leave a student's arsenal.

I am Clara, age 18, currently am a student of Nanyang Academy Of Fine Arts, pursuing a diploma in screen media. During my time as a primary/secondary school student. Before having reliable tutors that encouraged me to bounce back. I struggled in my grades during my compulsory education. I understand deeply the inner turmoil a young student faces in their time, without the push or anchor to improve and feeling hopeless/lagging behind the rest. However, even with my experience of failure from my grade Fs in primary school maths to hating the subject itself. I went on to scoring a B in PSLE and O levels, loving the subject. I know a student is completely teachable and worth every shot it takes. My teaching methods would be to build the student’s foundation before engaging in other practices.
