Currently tutoring three Secondary 4 Students in the newest 2024/2025 Geography syllabus, and also a Secondary 1 student. I am a preschool Tamil teacher. I love children and am patient with them. For a start, I give importance to speaking in simple Tamil. I use Tamil books to teach new words, as well as inculcate good values in children. I also use picture and word cards to teach and explain Tamil words. Some improvements seen is ability to solve simple math equations using their fingers and as compared to the beginning stages, they are able to solve quicker.

My focus is now on teaching students from SOTA (IB) (SL and HL English Literature and Theory of Knowledge). Have been teaching SOTA students Language and Literature For the past 3 years. Currently teaching SOTA yr 1,2 and 5 students. My SOTA students who received their IB results in January 2022 scored 7. Tutoring is my passion and I do it on a full time basis, teaching totally online via Skype, Zoom or Google Meet. I am constantly upgrading myself and have taken a few short courses with the University of Oxford on English Literature (Shakespeare and other authors) . I have also been teaching English and English Literature to Secondary school students preparing for their N and O level examinations. Many of my students have done well under my care, with many improving by at least two or three grades. (One student improved from C6 to A1 for her English O level examination, while another student improved from D7 to B4 for his English O level exam.) I endeavour not just to teach them in the subjects that they are weak at but to also inspire them to like the subjects. For many of my students, I try to be their friend, someone whom they can confide in about their problems with their school work. Many have gone on to study in the polytechnics and Junior Colleges. I have also coached many of them in their applications for polytechnic and university.

I’ve had experience teaching in Kumon, private home tutoring centers as well a preschool, I am currently a full-time preschool teacher and have taken on lower primary students as well- both local and international! Lessons are usually crafted with the child’s preferences and interests in mind, therefore, making sessions more fun and engaging! Preschool children I’ve taken on have significantly improved with phonics with the help of the hands-on approach implemented- lower primary students I’ve taken on have also improved significantly from the time I’ve taught. If not for their own hard work and partnership with the parents- this of course wouldn’t have been possible!
