Although I have not tutored formally before, I have an extreme passion for teaching and academia in general, with an intention to pursue my master's after graduation and venture into teaching. I currently am a y1 going y2 undergraduate student at NTU's school of humanities studying English literature with an intention to declare a second major in either linguistics or philosophy by the end of summer break. I have a deep passion for studying and teaching humanities subjects, namely English literature, and the English language. I have consistently achieved above-average grades for my languages, with an A2 for O level English, A1 for O level Chinese, and an A in both h1 GP and h1 Chinese at A levels. I often realize through my peers that languages are often what they struggle with revising for since there is no fixed format of answering exam questions and hence, they often do not get the grades they desire (it's not like math and science where answer schemes are sufficient to secure an A upon meditating upon the solutions)! As a previous science background in secondary school and JC student, I have only truly learned the proper method of studying and revising for humanities subjects over my past 2 semesters in year 1. I aim to impart this knowledge with my students and ensure my full support in helping them achieve their desired grades!

I had given English, Maths and Science tuition to a P2 student many years ago. He improved in his English and can understand what I had instructed him on homeworks and assessment books. I have deep interest and passion for English since young. I often write on Facebook and my personal blog websites. I also enjoy reading Christian books and the bible. I also love to learn from English articles through the internet. I have been teaching P4 students for close to a year on English, Maths, Science and Chinese. I have taught some P6 students for about 6 months.

I'm currently an undergraduate at NTU taking a double degree in Biomedical Sciences and Chinese Medicine, where half the modules are taught in Mandarin. I scored As for my Chinese subjects at Primary and Secondary levels, and took H2 Chinese Language and Literature in JC. I've tutored my peers in school and received positive feedback from them, helping them improve their grade. Therefore, I am confident that I will be able to impart the necessary knowledge to my students and in the process, help them improve on their Chinese Language standards. For my students, I will routinely go through their school assignments/exam papers with them and answer any doubts they have regarding the subject in order to help them understand better. On top of that, I can prepare suitable assignments/ worksheets for my students depending on their abilities/workload.

More than 20 years teaching English and Literature. I’ve taught in many schools. Most of them were neighbourhood schools and I've also taught in Nanyang Girls' and RGS. I quit full-time teaching and was teaching relief and then as a flexi-adjunct. The last school I taught at was Junyuan Secondary school and I left in Oct 2025 Motivated and teachable students achieve on average an improvement of two grades. As far as I know, no student I ever tutored has failed. I am teaching at an enrichment centre, registered under MOE. The centre is called icreative learner. I have 3.5 years of experience teaching kids aged 9 to 12 years old, and I thoroughly enjoy working with this age group. Currently, my love for the English language pushed me to pursue a Masters in Creative Writing. I hope to impart the same passion for English and writing to young children and be a stepping stone for them into the literary world.
