Experience
My experience:
I have ~3 years in experience teaching, and around 1 year experience in teaching Economics. In my JC days at RI, I have co-chaired a project, aimed to help out underprivileged kids in the community. I have tutored around 10 students in this program, in a variety of subjects, such as Mathematics, English and Science. My students have seen improvements in their grades.
As for economics, I have taught my classmates in JC as a peer tutor, as I was usually the top in class (and top few in cohort). After JC, I am currently teaching a few students in econs (h1 and h2), from a variety of JCs. All of them have seen improvements (at least 2 grades) within a month of joining. One of my students have improved from an S in his class tests to a B in his MYE, after attending 2 months of my lessons.
My credentials:
- I have done well in the A Levels (6 distinctions), and offered H3 Economics.
- Consistent grades, attained A for all exams (Promo, Prelim and 'A' Levels),
- Consistently been in the top 10% of my cohort, and top in my class.
My teaching approach:
- Concise content lectures, only covering the essentials needed for exams, using RI notes.
- Will go through commonly tested questions in class and teach answering techniques required to approach such questions.
- Will also ask my students to complete some homework under timed conditions and mark on the spot.
- I am very flexible in the way I teach, so if students have any suggestions on how I should help them, I'm more than happy to oblige.
I also offer 24/7 round the clock consulting on Economics, and I'll gladly mark any extra essays submitted!
