As a JC graduate from a neighbourhood school myself, I specialise in teaching students from non-elite schools. Often, due to different priorities of neighbourhood school teachers, students commonly fall into similar pitfalls. I take care to teach students to identify and avoid such typical mistakes, which are simple to look out for, but can significantly impact their grades for the better.

I make sure my lessons are always holistic and informative so my students can follow along. As a IB 41 pointer, I am confident in my skills to not only impart knowledge but to impart them in a creative and fun manner to my students. For Secondary School students, I conducted a 1 to 1 consultation style teaching. All of my secondary school students were taught free of charge, as back then, i didnt consider giving tution and i was just keen on helping and imparting my knowledge to these students who needed help. The first 2 students in this category, were last minute students who had poor foundation in E and A math. In a span of 2 weeks , I helped them strengthened their math foundation and managed to help them pull up their grades from a E8 in prelims to a b4 and b3 in O levels. My third student was a friend who I've taught for over a course of 5 months. He often came to me for help for chemistry, biology and Emath. His Emath improved significantly, from being his worst subject to being one of his strongest subject, from a F9 to a A2. For my JC students, I taught both of them H2 mathematics. I created notes for both of them to be used for my lessons and compiled questions to be given on the spot to act as a refresher and assessment of their grasp of what they had learnt. My first student was a private candidate who I taught for 2 months which I then passed to my friend as I was overseas for a prolonged period of time. My second student was a private candidate retaking A levels who I had taught for about 6 months.

I have 3 months experience teaching a class of 8 Sec 4 students A Math in a tuition centre. They have seen huge improvements in their understanding and ability to apply what they have learnt in a whole range of problems. I am given autonomy over how I run the class, and I give them practice questions as homework, and go through their mistakes and questions in class. I am also currently tutoring a P6 boy English and Math, and he has been improving as well.
