I have a few years of experience in giving tuition especially for JC1 H1 Economics where the students managed to improve from a fail grade to getting promoted.

I have experience in teaching both J1 and J2 Economics and is exposed to the H1 and H2 syllabus and is currently teaching in Jurong JC and this is my 4th year in the teaching profession.

I have a year of experience on teaching a primary 3 and a primary 5 student. I used to teach them Maths, as their Maths was very bad. After teaching them, they have really improved alot. They used to get a D or even lower for the exams, but now, they are getting Cs and Bs. I am not a person who pressurizes the student with alot of theories or give them the alot of sums to try out. I would explain and give the students quite a number of examples to get them familiarized with the method. I will also make sure that it is an interacting session so it will not bore the student and me too.

I started off by teaching my peers when I was a secondary school student and continue in teaching one another even during the University days. This form of teaching and learning has helped me to become more confident in teaching others as not only did I learn to teach others but also to teach them well. That must have been one of the reasons why I started thinking of teaching and helping other students. One thing for sure is that I always ensure that they have gotten the foundations right before going on to apply the concepts they have just learnt well. With more practice, they will master the way of answering many different question types and get familiar with them.

I track students' records constantly to ensure that they have improved their grades and that they are coping well with other subjects as well. The students I taught improved their grades from borderline pass to an A/B within 2 to 3 months.

I enjoy teaching tuition and I always ensure that my students have a summary of the concepts for the different topics so that they can apply these concepts to the different question types. I feel that private tuition plays a very important role in monitoring a student's progress in their studies.
