Humanities subjects tend to be harder to score than Math and Science subjects as they require a broad and contextualised understanding of the subject that needs to be cultivated over time, and thus my approach to teaching would follow as such. I believe that learning can and should be effective, engaging and enjoyable to produce results.

I have 6 years of tutoring experience, both home and group, from 2006-2011. In 2011, I taught a Sec 2 Sci group tuition in Queensbridge Education Centre. 3 out of 7 of them scored top 3 in class for their Science Mid Year Examination. I have very positive feedbacks from parents for all my home tuitions, some did not even want me to stop teaching their kids despite having no drastic improvement as they claimed that their kids are 'very difficult to handle', or 'it's okay if they cant score A1, as long as they still have interest to study'. The reason I stopped was I had been called up for National Service and did not want to commit any tuition during that period of time.

During my lessons, I will focus on 2 main things: understanding and application. I believe that these 2 things are the most important ingredients to succeed in JC work. In the past, I've taught a Sec 3 girl pure chemistry. Her grades improved from a C5 to A2.

I've also taught a JC1 boy H2 Economics and H2 Chemistry where his grades improved from S to B in Economics and E to B for Chemistry. The students are from JJC and SAJC.

In total, I have 1.5 years of teaching experience.

I will be going to NUS Chemical Engineering in 2016.
