Experience
10 years full-time tutor for O-level, A-level, IGCSE and IB Syllabus Physics/Chemistry/A Maths/E Maths.
More than 100 students whom have been under my care and successfully graduated.
Graduated VJC w Triple Science Program, 4As for All Sci and Math; SMU-business management (Magna Cum Laude) with Dean’s List in 3rd Year.
I had also taken up residency with ThinkTeach Academy to facilitate their Lower Secondary Science and Upper Secondary Chemistry Courses.
I apply a teaching method that strongly advocates having students explain their work prior to my explanation in the form of exchange of opinions, to stimulate their thoughts and confidence while allowing me to better grasp their understanding or misconceptions of any concepts.
All learnings materials will be provided from my compilation over my years of experience.
Lessons are highly focused with hand-picked questions to be completed within class, and homework is arranged if assignments cannot be completed or overwhelming mistakes are spotted. Otherwise, out-of-class activities will be assigned, like pre-read tasks, so students come to class with equipped with conceptual knowledge to actively participate in discussions with me.
Current students from St Joseph International, SOTA, Maris Stella, CHIJ Katong Convent.
Graduated students from Victoria Junior College, Catholic Junior College, Victoria School, Dunman High, Australian International School, Hwa Chong International, St. Joseph International, UWCSEA, etc.
For chemistry, recent achievements for IB syllabus included ex-students of mine from SJII, the first was scoring 4 in Grade 8 and graduated with 6 in Grade 10 for Chemistry (testimonials available) while another was failing his Chemistry but achieved A2 for Chem o-levels on graduation.
Further, had Ex-Edexcel Chemistry graduate with high B, entering Edinburgh University, and IB student graduated with 5/7 for IB Chemistry, both were failing at start of year; in earlier years i also have had students from VJC, CJC, NYJC and TPJC all graded with B from falling in mid-year.
In addition, my portfolio throughout the years sees more than 85% of graduating o-level students achieved A2 or above for chemistry (testimonials available) and IGCSE students achieve A(a).
For physics, most recent achievements is St Joseph International girl graduating 7/7 in IB HL Physics for 2023. In earlier years, two notable ones are my SJI international student scoring A(a)-85% on IGCSE graduation; ex-CJC student achieved B for H2 Physics in A levels from E in Prelims. And for o-levels physics already have a history more than 10 students who graduated with A2 or higher.
Till date still teaching Physics regularly and familiar with the content until IB HL and A-levels, of which both had graduating students in 2023. And this year-end having another batch of graduates for Physics o-levels.
For Maths, my recent accomplishments include 3 Maths SL students in 2023 from SOTA, all graduating with 6 out of 7, two even achieving borderline high distinction, short of 1 mark from 7 out of 7.
Have a consistent track record of O-level students achieving A1s and A2s for E Maths and at least B3 for A Maths O-levels. (Results slips available if needed). International syllabus achievements include IGCSE (o-lvl equivalent) student graduated with A(a) (81/100).
