I've been tutoring a primary 4 and secondary 2 Chinese since 3 years back. They have been improving consistently throughout this period of time. I wouldn't say they like Chinese ever since I taught them, but they have been trying their best to speak Chinese during their daily lives. With reference to materials to coach, I've been spending my own personal time to devise my own materials, as I believe it's also the effort from the tutor to ensure the smooth success of a session. Apart from the two students mentioned above, I'm also a Chinese tutor to a secondary 3 student. She suffered from depression, a barrier which was overcame as I spent 8 months standing by her side to assist & shoulder her burden. She borne in a single-parent family, so I played the role of a brother who helped her improve psychologically & emotionally. I may not be the best Chinese tutor, yet I'm just glad that she now became a person who is brave enough to face the world.
