I have been teaching in MOE school for past 22 years. As a MOE teacher, I have come across and guided students of various learning needs. I am patient and nurturing and have a good rapport and relationship with my students and parents. I am very familiar with the MOE syllabus and requirement of skills for the National Exams(N and O levels) hence I am able to help students focus on the required skills targeted for the national exams. I regularly engage students’ learning using assessment for learning (AFL) strategies to check on their understanding. I provide relevant feedback to inform students and parents of the learning gaps and how to move forward to close the gaps. I believe in getting students to be independent in their own learning by teaching them the right strategies to master the new concepts. I work well with parents to regularly update the child’s progress through text, face to face conversations. I also welcome students to text me if they have further questions to clarify beyond our tutoring sessions. In my sessions, I also provide add-on materials such as notes, practice worksheets and school papers. I started giving math tuition since I was 19 and even tutored a JC 1 boy only two years younger than me. I am known for my very clear teaching and the ability to make complex concepts easy to understand. I believe in teaching and learning deeply, understanding the why and not just the how to do. I am a passionate teacher who decided to quit the school system in June 2023.
