I have taught in schools for a total of 10 years. I am a well-liked educator with a burning passion for Science and Mathematics. When I graduated from my honours programme, I was awarded 'The Singapore Mathematical Society Book Prize' for being the best student teacher in Mathematics in the Bachelor of Science (Education) (Secondary) programme. I have almost ten years of teaching experience in mainstream schools as a Mathematics and Biology teacher; and over six years of experience as a private tutor. As a private tutor, I have taught students from primary to JC/IB level. I was appointed as the subject head (Mathematics) in my previous school, and I am well-versed in the syllabus, curriculum, assessment literacy, and teaching pedagogies. In addition, I have attended and completed the 'Differentiated Instruction Made Practical' course conducted by Harvard Graduate School of Education. As such, my lessons cater to the diverse needs of my learners by providing scaffolding for them. Over the years, I have helped many students improve their academics and life skills. I was given the 'Caring Teacher Awards' in 2014 and 2016. Many of my students have gained valuable lessons from my teaching. I believe in the importance of having a growth mindset - every child can learn, and no one should ever give up on themselves.

Graduated from NUS, Major in Math. 14 years of teaching Math from Primary to JC level. Students have seen tremendous improvement within a year. I taught at Teck Whye Sec for about 1-2 years as a contract teacher. I was given a full load with form class and CCA, not shadowing or relief teaching. My students are from a variety of schools including Nanyang girls, SJI, RV, St Nicholas, Chongfu, CJC and others. Many students approach me with a failing grade and achieve at least a pass grade by EOY. I have students who saw improvement from Fail to Distinction within a year.
