Student Testimonials
'Mr Liau's teaching style is effective. He focuses on the student's weaknesses and provides precise solutions to tackle them. I was able to learn the various writing skills and adapt them into my own writing. He has helped me improve my overall results for GP. Also, he keeps the
lesson engaging and interesting with his insights on the latest global events.
Crystal (General Paper), Victoria Junior College
'Classes with Mr Liau always bring fresh insights that have never crossed my mind during my self -study or even during GP lessons in school. He always challenges me to stretch myself and deeply explore conventional topics and issues that are usually only superficially discussed in school.'
Jiwon (General Paper) Victoria Junior College
'GP lessons with Teacher Chuan Yi are great, his sense of humour makes the lesson more engaging and I really appreciate how he compiles a list of articles under 'Readabee' weekly which encourages me to have the habit of reading and to keep abreast of what is happening around the world.
Tricia (General Paper), Meridian Junior College
'Teacher Chuan Yi has always been caring and nice, and I have always enjoyed my GP lessons with him. The classroom experience has always been a relatively open one, where we hold discussions about various topics and are free to express any opinions we have. This has greatly broadened my perspectives about the world, giving me deeper insights on
how the world functions.
Yuhan (General Paper),Raffles Junior College
Teacher Chuan Yi: Definitely very easy to clarify doubts. Patient enough for a whole lot of questions. Provide lots of reading resources for us.
Wei Joo (General Paper),Meridian Junior College
Despite having only attended a few lessons, I can already feel the caring atmosphere in this tuition centre. Lessons with Teacher Chuan Yi is always fun. I have learnt a lot and I am now interested in GP, which I felt was a boring subject before I joined.
Gerald (General Paper), Serangoon Junior College
'[Mr Liau] inspires me to take an interest in current affairs. His weekly 'Readabee' has helped me to build up my knowledge of current affairs and it has helped me to develop insights into matters of great importance. I am now more confident of doing well in my exams.'
Xavier (English),Hwa Chong Institution
'Mr Liau is a very interesting teacher to be with. He motivates students in various ways. For example, when I told him that I am aiming for a B3 in English, he told me, 'Why not aim higher? Like an A2 or A1?' He told me that he's confident that I can achieve it. With this, I am now aiming to get an A for English and Biology for my end of year examinations.'
Danial (English and Biology),East View Secondary
'Mr Liau encourages me to do well and aim high. Sometimes I will say that I cannot do it but he will tell me I can do it. I used to find examinations very tough but now I am more confident. He always gives me interesting stories to read. Now I enjoy reading. I think I will do well in PSLE if I continue to work hard.'
Michael (English),Ngee Ann Primary
'Mr Liau has helped me greatly in history and geography. I used to fail these subjects with a D7 and E8 but with his help, I have managed to get a B4 for both subjects. Mr Liau's explanations are always clear and he has helped me to understand complex concepts and issues.'
Chris (History and Geography), Dunman Secondary
'I have learnt a lot of things such as new vocab words and different ways to answer questions. I get to use and try out different ways of writing phrases and sentences. It's quite fun to learn about new things, not just English, but also other general knowledge through reading articles and passages. I think that my usage and command of English have improved.'
Taejun (English) Victoria School
'Mr Liau is such an intellectual person whom I can speak to about historical events and people in an in-depth manner. He also always backs up his statements with concrete evidence taken from scholarly articles, which implies that he is meticulous and careful about what he teaches his students. He has motivated me to do more History in a week than I did last term. Thank you Mr Liau!'
