I can't remember her actual scores for her test but she jumped from doing average in class to being one of the top 3 now for that subject

I have been teaching the primary level as full-time tutor since August 2014 till date. Prior to that when I was studying, I had also taught part-time for 2 years. My students are mainly of Primary 3 to Primary 6 for Mathematics and Science. One of my student had usually fared borderline pass (e.g. 26/50) prior to my teaching when she was in Primary 3. She gradually improved to being able to achieved 41/50 in the year-end exam for Primary 4.

One of my P3 student scored 56/100 for SA2 before I started teaching. Under my tutelage, in P4 she got 67/100 for SA1 and 78/100 for SA2.
Another P5 student usually fail or borderline pass (48~52), but after 5 months of tuition with me since January, SA1 she got her result at 69/100.

Every child has different learning ability due to their attention span and way of acquiring knowledge. I often update the parents on their child's progress so that they'll be able to know their child's weakness and guide them along (supervision over homework) while I'm not at their place for lesson.

I have been teaching regularly for the past 12 years and I have experience in teaching students with ADHD and developmental delay. With my degree in psychology, I am able to understand and help to adjust the lessons according to the strengths and weaknesses of the student. I am also able to better understand that more patience and time is required for students with slower learning abilities. I have taught Primary school English, Chinese, Maths and Science and also Secondary school English and Chinese before. Currently still open to teaching these subjects as I am a full time tutor now and teaching P5 and P6 English, Maths, Chinese and Science.

My experience as a relief teacher in two primary schools has sparked my interest in helping students to better grasp the Chinese language. I believe strongly in strengthening the language through exposure and practice. My method of coaching will focus on Chinese grammar, which is a commonly neglected aspect of the language that helps in the clear expression of ideas. Vocabulary wise, I believe should go beyond textbooks.

I have tutored primary school students(a variety of subjects) for three years and stopped for half a year as I was away for exchange. I taught at Beacon and Kranji primary school as relief Teacher in 2015. I hope to focus on secondary school Chinese this time round. I have interned at MediaCorp Chinese News and came from River Valley High school so I have a reasonable standard of the Chinese language. Currently I have not taught any secondary school Chinese before though.
