Experience
My last school was Nanyang Junior College and I was teaching General Paper and Project Work and I left in 2020
Home tutoring Primary 1-6, Sec 1-4 students for English & JC students for GP.
In my 30 year teaching career in various schools such as Innova JC, Pioneer JC and St Andrew's JC, I consistently produced 100% or near 100% pass in GP with an average of 85% scoring B.
I have taught English to children and teens in my church and on mission trips in various countries.
Testimonial for Ms Lim Meng Kean
I first got to know Ms Lim when she taught me GP in 1999. Because of her, my love for English was fanned into flames. She also encouraged me to work on my public speaking skills and gave me plenty of 'stage time' during college days. This later led me to participate in a national level speech contest which I won. This led me to represent Singapore in many other regional and global speech competitions. Who would have thought that a decade later, I would get to work with Ms Lim in the capacity of speech coach to develop a public speaking program for Innova Junior College that became a huge success in many ways. Worth mentioning is having that year's PESA champion to be from Innova Junior College! I could mention many more encounters I had with Ms Lim but I think suffice to say, she has been a mega influence to my career success. Today, I am an international keynote speaker and make a living speaking to tens of thousands of people all over the world. In fact as I am typing this, I am about to head off to USA (Los Angeles) to speak at a business conference. I believe that Ms Lim is a perfect choice for the role she is applying for because of her heart towards helping her students become better version of themselves. I am a testament to that.

Testimonial for Lim Meng Kean (Ms)
Lim Meng Kean (Ms) was in the teaching faculty for General Paper (GP) at Innova Junior College, when I had been there as a student in 2006 to 2007. I had the privilege to work with her as the Choir Chairwoman during those years as she had been in charge of the college choir, as well as in 2008 as part of the alumni choir.
Meng Kean had her best interests in the development of her students, which goes beyond just their academia. As an educator, she would go the extra mile to provide her students with additional assistance for GP, even after curriculum and remedial hours. As an avid supporter of the performing arts, her vision and encouragement to the school choir to grow aesthetically bore fruits when the choir had their first solo school concert on grounds in 2007. In 2008, her tireless support rendered the Choir and alumni the ability, and strength, to have their first (and only) concert on external grounds at The Republic Cultural Centre at Republic Polytechnic.
I believe that as an educator, one not just have to be academically competent, but also requires them to touch their students in their life in a way that changes them. Meng Kean is essentially someone who is not just capable in delivering lesson content, but, is also able to lead positive changes in students
I wish for her success in her future endeavours.
Yours sincerely,
Chan Qiu Yu Fanella
Student of Innova Junior College (2006-2007)
