I have been teaching full time since 2012 I teach mainly upper pri eng and math, and Sec emath. For English, students usually improve in their Paper 2 by more than 10 marks (some of course even more significantly higher) after at least half a year with me. Recent secondary students: Rosyth Sec 3 this year: 76% Anglican High Sec 3 this year: 71% the rest are mainly neighbourhood schools like Orchid Park etc, most of them scoring at least 75 (A1) For primary, I have students from tao nan and methodist girl school. Most of.my students improved. P1 and p2 there are no tests so can't comment. But I have a p6 who's always failing maths. Psle we were hoping she'll get C but surprisingly she got B. This student is from nan chiau pri. For p3, all improved after I taught them. I think these students don't pay attention in class but rely on tuition to help them. My students find it easy to develop rapport with me so they don't dislike tuition like some other students do.

I had been a part-time/freelance lecturer since 1994 in Singapore Poly, SIM and MDIS degree program.

I am also an experience trainer in Mathematics Enrichment training (Maths Olympiad Training) conducted in Primary Schools and Secondary Schools, including RGPS, Tao Nan, Kong Hwa, Poi Ching, Pei Chun, Yuan Ching Sec, Holy Innocents, Montfort Sec etc.

Currently I have 1 JC1 student, 3 O-level students, 4 Sec 3 students and 1 PSLE student.

I am also a private tutor in Mathematics for Primary School, Secondary School, JC and IB/IGCSE students who were in UWC and ACS international.

Also tutored for Edexcel Modules (for UK student taking Private Exam in Singapore).

I had strong interest in solving mathematical puzzles/problems in secondary school and was awarded best individual performance in school competition.

I believed that it is important to develop the student's interest and appreciation in the subject and motivate them to excel.

I will help the student to understand the link connecting the various concepts, and hence develop their problem solving skills.

In the past few years, I had helped many students (mainly in Sec 3/4/5) to score better in their exams, from fail to pass, and pass to A1/A2.

I am a NIE trained former school teacher with about 13 years of teaching experience I was teaching in Hillgrove Secondary School, I left in 2010. After that I taught in Japan, then back in Singapore in an international academy for students doing O levels. All along I've been tutoring students for PSLE, N and O level English. I teach English to local and international students, as well as private candidates, children and adult learners. I also conduct parent workshops.

Since tutoring full-time in 2005, I've gained a lot of experience in teaching students from various levels. Some students are diligent and motivated themselves while some may lack motivation or guidance. But my job and responsibility is to do my very best to teach each and of them and to make sure that they improve as best as they can. Every student, no matter how slow or fast needs to be given an equal chance at their studies. And all my students make improvement in their studies. For slower ones, they may not have made such a drastic improvement, but nonetheless, they still improved and became more disciplined and confident about their own abilities. The following will briefly explain how I usually teach: Throughout my years of teaching, I have also gained a lot of experience in writing essays together with my students. For example, I will usually write out the main parts or the entire essay as an example for my students. Over the years, I've written on a very wide range of subjects and topics. I enjoy writing and have also written some short stories on our local website. Besides essay writing, I also teach my students comprehension skills, useful new words/phrases/phrasal verbs/idioms of course correct grammar and tense. Maths is very interesting for the student and myself alike-especially model drawings and explaining maths concepts; I enjoy teaching Math a lot as it teaches one to think in a creative yet logical way! I usually use model drawings to solve problem sums and not algebra as algebra is slightly too abstract to be understood at the Pr level. Whenever possible, I also explain the reasoning behind concepts. I am also very experienced in teaching Sec Science, (taught for more than 10 yrs) including Chem, Bio and Physics. During lessons, I usually teach from O-level past year practice papers, going through important Sci concepts and making sure that the student understands and knows how to do a wide variety of qs. Science is very interesting and I am sure my students will be motivated to learn more by themselves after each lesson, just like how all my students improved Testimonials: -A Secondary 2 girl from Bowen Sec qualified for Triple Science Stream after I taught her English, Maths and Science. Both her parents and her were very happy -I have also taught a P6 girl from Admiralty Pr in Maths and Science this year and she achieved 'A's for both subjects. -A Sec 4 girl from Commonwealth Sec whom I taught since she was in Sec 1 and her English has improved greatly from failing till getting As.
