My usual methodology will begin with trying to find out what a student knows about a particular concept, or what so they want to know about a particular concept, It could be them trying to teach me how to solve a problem, while i ask questions to probe their understanding. After the gaps in content have been identified, we will proceed to breech the gaps using materials that their school has provided, supplemented with other resources if necessary.
