For chemistry and geography, I have my own notes to provide for the student. Teaching Style & Approach: Generally, I split the lesson into 2 portions: one for revision and another for practice. I always encourage my students to read up on the topics I am teaching so that they have questions to ask me when I am here. This ensures that they will not waste their time here. However, I do believe that different students have different learning styles and I will change my teaching style according to the student's interest. Writeup About Myself: I am a very patient teacher with a wide range of resources to provide for my students. I have my own notes to provide for the students. I am confident of teaching them the necessary skills needed and to develop a interest in what they are studying. I make lessons more fun and less mundane, as tuition is usually dreaded, especially after a long day at school. I am sure of my knowledge, and I have faith that I can help the student.

Since young, I have had a strong interest and aptitude for Mathematics and have always excelled in the subject. Scoring an A* for Mathematics in PSLE has qualified me to study in Hwa Chong Institution. In Hwa Chong Institution, Mathematics remained my forte and thus I have assisted my classmates in solving tough problems and my teaching experience also extends to both underprivileged children from 'Growing Up Learning Center' and Autistic youths from Pathlight school. This includes English, Mathematics as well as Reading classes for students from P3 to P6. This invaluable experience has definitely taught me a thing or two about teaching and interacting with students. I am teaching one student from Hwachong, another from NJC. After the GCE A Levels exam in November 2011, I worked in a tuition centre for 1 year to teach O Level Mathematics (both A math and E math) as well as humanities subjects. I have also taught more than 20 JC students for H2 Economics and most of them were happy with their A level results.

I have taught 2 students from OFS before and the rest (20+) are from JCs. Most of my JC students got As and two IB students both got level 7.

My favourite subject is Mathematics because there often exists more than 1 method to solve a problem and this makes the subject rigid yet flexible. I am an avid football fan and I also swim occasionally.
I have taught my brother since he started primary school, and I have since learnt that the main reason why students struggle in their respective subjects is because their foundation is not strong. Hence, when an unorthodox question comes up in the exam, they get stumped and their confidence in the subject drops.

I believe that experiential learning is a useful form of learning because actively doing something leaves a bigger imprint on the mind compared to listening and absorbing. I have personally gone through this teaching method so I can bear testament to it. My biggest achievement is winning the Local Award for the Google Science Fair and the main contributing factor was the fact that I actively went to pursue my interests in Science and Maths and learn through solving problems.

When I teach your child, my aim is as follows:
1. To equip your child with the fundamentals by exposing them to the myriad of problems that exam questions can be posed, so as to give your child more confidence in taking the paper. Merely explaining the concept to your child is not enough as I feel that my words could fall on deaf ears. Instead, I would require your child to re-explain the concept back to me in order for me to believe that he/she has mastered the concept. This method also prevents your child from drifting away from the lesson and engages him/her.

2. To teach your child time saving habits that allow him/her to manage his/her time more efficiently during the exam.

3. Answer your child's questions and clear up any misconceptions that they may have regarding the respective topics.

I am always available via Whatsapp to answer any questions with written solutions. I may even call your child to ensure that he/she understands not only the method used, but as well as why that particular method is utilized in that situation.
